Pat Rock’s Story
I guess you are reading this because you are either in the early stages of deciding on a Probate Realtor or you’re just interested in how a cheese head ended up in San Francisco specializing in probate sales. The following is my story abridged.
Raised in a large family with a successful restaurant business, I started doing chores when JFK was President. From an early age I was taught that everyone deserves respect, the customer is always correct, it’s the little hinges that swing the big doors, and giving is the ultimate gift. Half a century later when I’m not hanging with my three daughters, hiking in the Sierras with my lovely bride, gardening, walking the dog, or just hanging out with the neighbors, I am passionately helping others during a difficult period.
Since 1989, I have specialized in probate sales and in the provision of the complete range of services that are helpful to families during probate. I’m a full-service Probate Realtor from start to finish and beyond. I do what it takes to get the property ready for the market. This might mean obtaining bids, facilitating repairs, orchestrating clean outs, delivering donated items, facilitating estate sales, or securing tenant evictions. Often, I serve as the peace maker between family members for a smooth transaction.
Trust me, this is where my strong work ethic and well-rounded experience come to play, as probate sales are not your average real estate transactions. While precision is central to every real estate transaction, the demands of court regulated probate and trust sales are particularly complex. Deadlines are unforgiving and the probate codes must be honored. Most Realtors are not familiar with probate complexities and purchasing a house “AS IS” puts the fear of the Almighty into all first-time buyers. Once all the pre-sale work is completed and the house is finally put on the market, 75% of my time is spent answering other agents’ questions, clearly and simply explaining the probate process to them, and making sure they understand the terms and conditions on the probate purchase agreement that they are often seeing for the first time. I encourage other agents to keep calling until all of their questions and concerns are addressed.
